Mental health emergency
If an emergency arises that is life-threatening or needs immediate attention, you should contact emergency services on 999 or go to your nearest A&E department.
If you’re experiencing a mental health crisis, you should seek appropriate support. The below links may help you with this.

Out of hours support
Before calling a helpline, please consider:
- Their opening times
- The cost involved, if any
- Confidentiality; services often have policies on what to do if someone says they’ve harmed themselves or are actively planning on doing so.
- If the line is busy you can try again, try at a different time or seek support from another service or helpline
- If you cannot find the above information on service websites, you can ask them directly.
